Social Active Day extended to 17 countries
In 2011, Vienna Insurance Group initiated the "Social Active Day" as a clear statement of its social involvement. As a rule, the initiative allows employees to use one working day of the year for voluntary activities for a social organisation and to become socially involved for the benefit of needy or disadvantaged members of our society. The positive employee response encouraged the Group to extend the Social Active Day to 17 countries in 2012. The result was a complete success, with the participation of numerous Group employees in Albania, Bosnia-Herze-govina, Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Croatia, Liechtenstein, Macedonia, Montenegro, Austria, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Hungary providing close to 4,200 working days for social activities.
More information on the background and projects of the Social Active Day can be found in the “Corporate Social Responsibility” section.
