In its role as interface to the capital market, the Investor Relations (IR) department gave investors and analysts the opportunity to make direct contact with Vienna Insurance Group management during ten road shows and seven conferences in 2011. The Managing Board presented the Group’s strategy and current developments in the USA and Canada and the major financial centres of Europe. The full appointment schedules for the bank-organised conferences in Frankfurt, London, Zürs and Stegersbach underlined the demand for and great interest in first-hand information, particularly on the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. The good results achieved by VIG and its growth potential – even under difficult economic conditions – were also discussed in events organised by the Vienna Stock Exchange together with investment banks in Tokyo, London and New York.

Investor Relations made its first presentations at the Wiener Börse Tagen (Vienna Stock Exchange conferences) in Graz and Linz to customer account managers from a variety of financial institutions. As investment advisors, they are often the first point of contact for private customers. Vienna Insurance Group took advantage of the opportunity provided by the Vienna Stock Exchange to also address this important target group and draw their attention to the Group and VIG shares.

Prospective retail customers were able to obtain information on VIG during the BörseExpress Roadshow in September. Following the presentation, there was an opportunity to talk directly with the Chief Financial Officer.

Mobile access to data and information is becoming increasingly more important. Vienna Insurance Group decided to follow this corporate communications trend by launching an iPad app at the beginning of 2012 as a supplement to the Company’s website at www.vig.com. The IR app is free of charge and provides interested users with access to all current important information on the Group. Share prices, ad hoc announcements, press releases and important downloads – from the last Company presentations to fact sheets – are available anytime and anywhere. The Vienna Insurance Group app can be obtained by searching the App Store for “VIG IR” or using the following direct link to the IR Investor Kit on the Company’s website at www.vig.com/iPad.

Special note also needs to be made concerning the implementation of the ADR programme with BNY Mellon. American Depositary Receipts (ADR) are dollar denominated share certificates issued by a custodian bank that represent the shares of a foreign company and are traded in their place like shares in the US capital market. This gives US funds that are not permitted to make direct investments in foreign securities the opportunity to invest in companies outside the US. This opportunity has existed for VIG shares under a sponsored ADR programme since April 2011. Detailed information on this programme is available online at www.vig.com/ir > Share.
